Art File
Not everything you do needs to be recorded.
There are several documents you should keep to provide and gain insight into your learning process.
The assignments in which you demonstrate who you are, what your experiences are in the field of arts and culture, and how you explored the themes in depth are collected in a folder; this is called an art portfolio.
The art file is digital; you create a folder called the "ckv art portfolio" yourself. At the end of the year, you submit everything together in a formatted document with the assignment that the teacher prepares in Teams. Assignments that are not created digitally (for example, a piece of work with paint) are photographed. If you wish and are able, you can also create a website (for example, like this one with WIX). In that case, you submit a document with the link to the website in Teams.

A. Art Autobiography
In the CKV classes, you'll build an art portfolio, starting with an art autobiography. This is a representation of your thoughts and experiences in the field of art and culture. We want to give you the space to shape this in a way that suits you. There are two possible formats: textual and visual. If you have a different format in mind for your art autobiography, you can discuss it with your teacher.
Textual:
Write a personal report (at least 650 words) about your artistic and cultural experiences. Use the questions below as a starting point. The goal is to address all of these points. Make sure it's a personal and engaging report.
Begin each section with a new paragraph, but don't number them. Use appropriate subheadings.
Design is an essential part of CKV. Therefore, design your art autobiography in a personal way. Consider the layout, font, and illustrations.
-
Describe your earliest art-related memory.
-
Describe any cultural activities you've ever engaged in. Explain your opinion on these. You've probably read a book and been to a movie theater, but have you ever visited an opera? And which museum? Which film, book, or concert do you remember most fondly?
-
Which areas of art appeal to you, and which less so? Rank the disciplines and create your top seven. Explain your rankings.
Architecture, visual arts, dance, film, photography, music, theater (click here for more information about the art disciplines)
-
Perhaps you play a musical instrument yourself or have played a role in a play. In which of these disciplines are you or have you been active?
-
Social media is an important factor in contemporary culture. To what extent are you active on social media yourself?
-
Give your definitions of arts and culture.
-
Which cultural activities would you most like to participate in this school year?
-
Finally, briefly describe your expectations for the CKV subject.
Visual arts:
Create an art-autobiographical "box of memories."
You decide the shape of this box yourself.
You must creatively incorporate the above questions into the contents
of the box. Think of images, festival wristbands, concert tickets, etc.
Hopefully, you're a collector and a keeper!
Don't forget to take photos of your autobiographical CKV box;
you'll need them to submit digitally.
B Lesson assignments by theme
The lessons indicate which assignments from each theme are required in the file.
Some projects (such as a model or painting) need to be photographed for digital submission. In period 1, you will learn how to take and save good photos.
Tip: Don't wait until the last minute to complete the assignments, but make sure you complete them according to the study guides. You don't want a lot of extra work right before exam week.
C CKV Evaluation
Write an evaluation (approximately 300 words) describing what you remember most from the lessons and assignments. What went well, what could be improved, and why. We are especially curious about your experiences with the CKV website and your laptops. The evaluation is a mandatory part of your art portfolio: Once you have completed it, it will be checked off. The goal of this evaluation is for you to consciously reflect on the lessons and the subject matter, and for us to incorporate your feedback for improvement.
Tips to discuss during the evaluation, in no particular order:
- practical assignments on heroes, the city, film, and music
- using the website (instead of a textbook)
- participating in cultural activities and writing a preliminary and final report
- the variety of teaching methods
- using the laptop
- the guidance of your teacher
- topics you missed
- topics that resonated most with you
Art Portfolio Assessment:
Art Autobiography: max. 2 points
Thematic Assignments: max. 5 points
Evaluation: 1 point
Preparation and Layout: 2 point
